3. Pick a position (bottom center, bottom corners, or top center) and a format, such as "1 / 10" or "Page 1 of 10".

Tips for better results

Bottom center is the most common and least likely to clash with existing headers or footers. If your PDF already has content near the bottom edge, switch to a bottom corner instead and check a few pages before sharing the final file. When merging multiple documents with the Merge PDF tool first, add page numbers afterward so the numbering reflects the final combined page order.

Privacy and browser-based processing
